Lights In The Sky
As far as I can tell, with extensive internet searches, I am the best in the world at slack-flow. I define slack-flow as the action of performing ‘flow arts’ on a slackline. The term ‘flow arts’ encompasses a number of activities that involve manipulating an object or objects in an artful manner. It’s much like juggling, includes juggling, and, for the most part, is easier to learn and has more options for creativity. There are extreme benefits to learning flow arts, mostly because they provide you with a quick path to your own personal flow state. (learn about general flow at http://www.flowgenomeproject.com/) (for information on flow arts, visit http://www.flowartsinstitute.com/)
I have successfully, arduously, combined multiple activities that demand intense flow states to create a super flow state. While slacklining, I can spin double staves, poi, dragon staff, contact staff, double nunchucks, rope dart, and a variety of other things. The flow state is incredible, but now my mind demands more in order to reach my increasingly-difficult-to-reach flow state.
In order to push my limits, even further, I need to purchase highline gear or obtain enough money to travel to a place where people regularly highline. Unfortunately, my Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering has actually been giving me great difficulty with finding a job, so I can’t buy the highline gear myself or afford to travel. After applying for many jobs, I can only infer that engineering companies do not want to hire me, because they see that I will soon be going pro with my slacklining. And any jobs that I am overqualified for, which is nearly all of them, will not work for me either. They won’t even call back. I’m stuck. I can’t seem to find a job and now I’m living out of my car, in Florida, with only one option, which is to ask strangers for money to help me survive and hopefully enough to pursue my dream of spinning lights in the sky, around the world.
I have been training in flow arts for 11 years, slacklining for 7 years, and combining the two, intensively, for the past 3 years. I used to think what I can do was impossible. I proved myself wrong and would like to see how far I can take this. I’d like to travel to epic locations to manipulate lights, high above the ground, in between mountains, cliffs, canyons, and over rivers, gorges, and cities. I have the skills, but I need your help to prove myself to companies that can sponsor me to get me the rest of the way. As soon as I get a highlining video, I’m sure companies will sponsor me. There are already plenty of sponsored athletes that get paid to travel the world, highlining. I want to be one of them, but need your help to prove to them that I can perform slack-flow on highlines.
This is the new world record for the highest urban highline. He’s just walking. I’m not saying it’s not hard, but it’s not as impressive as if he was performing slack-flow.
This is the world record longest highline and again, they are just walking.
I would be incredibly appreciative if you could afford to donate once or a small amount, each month. You would be helping to support a very uniquely epic activity, gracefully spinning lights in the sky
